Your home may be THE Summer Destination in your neighborhood, but what happens when all those kids, parents, and even pets towel off and head home for dinner? You’re left with a dirty swimming pool and a lot of maintenance! Check out our checklist of swimming pool maintenance to get the most out of your pool this summer: Daily
DIY Hack: If your skimmer has seen better days but you don’t have time to run out for a new one, try an old pair of pantyhose instead of a skimmer sock! They work in filter baskets, as well. Weekly
DIY Hack: Hook up your manual pool vacuum and place it in the center of the pool, upside down. It can act as a main drain, clearing cloudy water quickly. Monthly
DIY Hack: Toss a few tennis balls into your pool or hot tub to absorb surface oils. This is a great trick after a big pool party! Yearly
DIY Hack: Baking soda and soda ash can increase your alkalinity and pH. A lot of work goes into pool opening during spring, pool maintenance during summer, and pool closing during fall, in preparation for winter. Having a professional pool services company helps, but there are a number of routine maintenance steps you can take on your own to keep your pool in tip-top shape. Happy Swimming!
